Zephyr: Todavía estoy lejos de dominarlo por completo, pero la ventaja es clara: es muchísimo más beneficioso que simplemente frenar en línea recta antes del vértice. Te permite entrar con más inercia y velocidad al corazón de la curva.
RickF1Racing: ¿Qué importancia le das a la telemetría para corregir tus hábitos de conducción?
Zephyr: Para ser sincero, no es una prioridad para mí ahora mismo. Prefiero lo visual: corrijo mis errores basándome en las repeticiones y estudiando los "fantasmas" de las vueltas rápidas de otros pilotos.

RickF1Racing: La clasificación suele ser estresante. ¿Cómo manejas la presión cuando solo tienes una oportunidad para marcar el tiempo?
Zephyr: No dejo que me afecte. Sé que no soy el piloto más rápido en una sola vuelta de clasificación; tiendo a rendir mucho mejor gestionando el ritmo de carrera y siguiendo al grupo que liderándolo desde el frente.
RickF1Racing: ¿Tienes alguna rutina mental para "reiniciarte" después de un incidente en la primera vuelta?
Zephyr: Simplemente sacudírtelo y seguir adelante. Lo más importante en ese momento es mantener la concentración y asegurarte de terminar la carrera, pase lo que pase.
RickF1Racing: Mencionas que las carreras de resistencia son tus favoritas. ¿Cómo manejas la fatiga mental en tramos tan largos?
Zephyr: Mi TDAH me permite entrar en un estado de hiperconcentración durante mucho tiempo. Eso me ayuda a mantenerme enfocado en carreras largas, aunque confieso que es más difícil si estoy haciendo una transmisión en vivo al mismo tiempo.

Zephyr: Sin ninguna duda, actualizar a unos pedales con sensor de carga (Load Cell). Es lo que realmente marca la diferencia en el cronómetro.
RickF1Racing: En el setup del coche, ¿prefieres sacrificar velocidad punta o estabilidad?
Zephyr: Sacrifico la estabilidad siempre. Me encanta sentir que el coche se descontrola un poco y que desliza lateralmente; me hace sentir más el límite del auto.

RickF1Racing: Many drivers try to make the jump from "amateur" to "competitive" and fail. In your experience, what is the most common mistake in this process?
Zephyr: Over-relying on assists, especially Traction Control. Many people keep it set way too high. Learning to drive without it is the real key to understanding throttle control and becoming truly fast.
RickF1Racing: On the blog, we talk a lot about braking. How did your pace change once you began to master trail braking?
Zephyr: I’m still far from fully mastering it, but the advantage is clear: it’s much more beneficial than simply braking in a straight line before the apex. It allows you to carry more momentum and speed into the heart of the corner.
RickF1Racing: How much importance do you place on telemetry to correct your driving habits?
Zephyr: To be honest, it’s not a priority for me right now. I prefer a visual approach; I correct my mistakes based on replays and by studying the "ghosts" of the fastest laps from other drivers.

RickF1Racing: Qualifying can be stressful. How do you handle the pressure when you only have one shot at a fast lap?
Zephyr: I don’t let it get to me. I know I’m not the fastest driver over a single qualifying lap; I tend to perform much better by managing race pace and following the pack rather than leading it from the front.
RickF1Racing: Do you have a mental routine to "reset" after a first-lap incident?
Zephyr: Just shake it off and keep going. The most important thing at that moment is to maintain focus and make sure you finish the race, no matter what happens.
RickF1Racing: You mentioned that endurance races are your favorite. How do you manage mental fatigue over such long stints?
Zephyr: My ADHD actually allows me to enter a state of hyper-focus for long periods. That helps me stay locked in during long races, though I’ll admit it’s harder if I’m live streaming at the same time! (laughs).
⚙️ SECTION 3: Hardware: The Sim Racer’s Arsenal
RickF1Racing: Many people spend a fortune on wheel bases, but how much do a good set of pedals actually influence consistency?
Zephyr: The difference is night and day. I went from a Logitech G29 to Pro pedals, and my lap times dropped instantly. Expensive gear won’t make you fast automatically, but it provides consistency and a much more pleasant experience.
RickF1Racing: For someone looking for their first major hardware upgrade, what would you recommend?
Zephyr: Without a doubt, upgrade to Load Cell pedals. That is what truly makes a difference on the stopwatch.
RickF1Racing: When it comes to car setup, do you prefer sacrificing top speed or stability?
Zephyr: I’ll sacrifice stability every day. I love feeling the car get a bit out of control and sliding laterally; it makes me feel closer to the car's absolute limit.
